About The Project
Let’s Talk About Talking: An Introduction to AAC is a Girl Scout Gold Award project designed to increase awareness and understanding of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) among elementary school students and educators.
The project was inspired by my experiences working with students in elementary classrooms and participating in Adaptive Music programs. Through these experiences, I recognized the importance of communication access and the need for greater awareness of AAC in school communities.
Through educational resources, presentations, and outreach efforts, this project aims to provide accessible AAC information, encourage meaningful conversations about inclusion, and promote greater understanding of the many ways people communicate. By fostering awareness and acceptance, Let’s Talk About Talking strives to help create learning environments where all students feel seen, heard, and supported.
Our Mission
To educate students and educators about AAC, promote understanding, and make schools more inclusive for everyone.
